Starting on New Year’s Day, 2016, I’m going to listen to one album a day for the next year in an attempt to listen to more music and diversify my “listened to” catalogue. The album list will be comprised of the top 366 albums in NME’s ‘top 500 albums of all time’ list – in order, starting at number 366 – which they curated in 2013. To make the process a more tedious experience I’m also going to attempt to write something about each album and record it blog-style on this website.
It’ll be crap because I can’t write and my white, working-class, small-town upbringing equips me to offer absolutely no novel insight into any of the albums I’ll listen to whatsoever. But at the end of the year I’ll have listened to 366 albums with enough attention to make trite comments on all of them, so that’s something.
